Adding custom layer

Hello,

I'm evaluating this product right now to replace an existing mapping application we have on a subscription-based website.  So far it seems to be meeting all our needs except for one thing:  I need to be able to show section/township/range lines on the map.  I have a bunch of Autocad shapefiles (.shp) and Tiger data containing the layers I need but I'm not sure how (or if ) I can apply them to a Virtual Earth map.  Any advice?

Thanks,

Aaron

Re:Adding custom layer

I don't believe Virtual Earth supports importing Autocad shape (.shp) files. If you wrote some code to parse the .shp file yourself, you could then draw the shape directly onto the Virtual Earth map.

Re:Adding custom layer

Chris, you have no idea how pleased I am you finally responded to this.  I've got alot of time & effort invested in utilizing this component on my current project, but was afraid to send $139 for a license knowing these forums haven't been responded to in over two months.

I tried emailing you directly, using this forum, posted on pietschsoft.com, even called your house & left a message.

I've had some other issues as well, but quit posting them on this forum due to the obvious lack of response, did you get any of my emails or other attempts to contact you?  I can re-post on here if you'd rather.

Thanks,

Aaron

Yes, I recieved the other messages you sent me (including the voice mail). We've just been busy the last couple months with alot of contract/consulting work. Sorry for neglecting the forums and emails. I'm going to make sure to respond to them in a MUCH more timely manner going forward. I appreciate you patience.

And, Yes, I'd prefer if you posted any questions you have within these Forums. That way the answers are archived for other customers as well.

Thanks!
