Is there a way to programmatically display the callout/flyout for a shape?

If so, is it possible to cause it to remain displayed until the user hovers over a different shape.

Here's the scenario:  When the map is displayed with several shapes/pushpins, one of them is special and we want to display the flyout containing information about that location until the user hovers over a different shape then display the flyout for that shape as it normally would.

Sorry to keep pushing the envelope but users are relentless in their requests.
